Team
FDFO is led by Adolfo Fastlicht Kurian and his son Samuel Fastlicht Dubovoy. We are intentionally small — two principals stewarding the family’s capital across two generations.

Founder & Principal
Adolfo is a real estate developer, hospitality operator, and entrepreneur with more than thirty years of experience across Mexico and the United States. He co-founded Cinemex in 1993 — growing it into Mexico’s second-largest cinema chain with JP Morgan Capital as lead investor — and exited the business in 2002 for more than $320 million.
That same year, he founded Icon Group, a real estate development and investment firm with assets in residential, commercial, and hospitality real estate across Mexico. He went on to co-found Fibra Hotel (FIHO12), Mexico’s largest publicly traded hospitality REIT, and to develop a portfolio of landmark projects including the Riviera Cancún master plan with FONATUR, the Malecón Américas mixed-use development, residential communities at Cuatro Puntos, Sky Cancún, La Vista Puebla, and Los Veneros, and the W Punta de Mita resort.
In hospitality and entertainment, Adolfo founded Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas in La Jolla in 2009 and, in 2015, THE LOT, a leading luxury cinema and hospitality brand. He has been an angel, venture, and private equity investor for more than twenty years.
He served two terms as President of ADI, Mexico’s Real Estate Developers Association, and sits on the Boston University School of Hospitality Dean’s Advisory Council, the Tijuana–San Diego 2024 World Design Capital Advisory Board, and the National Association of Theater Owners California board.

At eighteen, while studying philosophy at Boston University, he co-founded Ethos Early Learning Center in Boston — an early-education facility serving more than eighty-five children. He led the business plan, lease negotiations, build-out, and licensing, and helped manage day-to-day operations.
In 2019, Samuel founded Phi Innovación Scientific, a pharmaceutical development laboratory in Mexico City, where he led government relations and secured COFEPRIS authorization. He has served on the board of Boffo Cinemas / THE LOT in La Jolla since 2019.
Samuel splits his time between Mexico City and San Diego, and is a member of the La Jolla Country Club.
